South Central Criminal Justice Administration of Connecticut

PoliceApp has partnered with the South Central Criminal Justice Administration to offer regionalized testing and recruitment. Your valid test score will allow you to apply to those participating departments identified in the registration process for this examination.

How It Works

Pay one fee + Pass all components = Valid test results for multiple departments

The South Central Criminal Justice Administration of Connecticut (SCCJA) conducts entry level testing for its member departments.

Phase 1: Physical Performance Test - Jan. 20, 2019
If you have a CHIP card that will be valid on the date of the SCCJA Physical performance test, you will not be required to take the SCCJA Physical and will advance to Phase 2: Written Exam. If you have a CHIP Card and your results are viewable on your account, then SCCJA will receive your results automatically when you register for the SCCJA testing process. Remember these results must be valid on the "Date of the Upcoming Exam" of the SCCJA physical listed below.

Phase 2: Written Examination - Week of Jan. 21st

Phase 3: Oral Board Examination by Sworn Officers - Beginning of February 2019

You must pass each component to advance to the next phase. Only those candidates who have successfully passed the Oral Board Examination (Phase 3) will be eligible to apply to the departments hiring for this process as indicated-provided you meet that department’s minimum score requirements, as well as any other department-specific prerequisites.

A single application fee of $85 covers your entry into the SCCJA testing process. Individuals who pass the SCCJA preliminary testing process will be eligible to apply to participating departments without paying additional processing fees.

Neither SCCJA nor PoliceApp can control how many vacancies will be filled from this testing process. A minimum number of open positions cannot be guaranteed. Each department is responsible for its own hiring standards, prerequisites, and hiring timeline.
