Job Description – Seasonal Dispatcher
Summary:
The North Wildwood Police Department has employment opportunities for mature adults looking for positions related to the field of criminal justice. The North Wildwood Police Department is extremely proud to be the starting point for many seasonal employees who were trained in North Wildwood and went on to continue their careers in law enforcement in various municipal, state and federal police agencies throughout the country. Essential Duties:
The Seasonal Dispatcher may be assigned for up to forty-two (42) hours per week to provide public safety and law enforcement communication services and will be paid $10.00 an hour. Seasonal Dispatchers are required to work from academy graduation through September 30th each year.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Have the ability to read, write and speak the English language clearly and intelligently
- Have and demonstrate good moral character and have not been convicted of any crime constituting an indictable offense or any offense involving moral turpitude; verified by a background investigation
- Receives, transmissions by radio or telephone
- Utilizes data processing and computer orientated equipment in receiving and sending messages to state, local, and out-of-state law enforcement agencies
- Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems used by the agency, office, or related units
