CITY OF DANBURY
POLICE OFFICER
Starting Salary: $55,927 to $79,824/year
(as of July 1, 2016 per union contract)

The City of Danbury is currently seeking Police Officers. The mission of the Danbury Police Department is to provide an environment for the people of Danbury that is free from the fear of crime, where people can enjoy a high quality of life and the community can prosper. The Danbury Police Department is dedicated to delivering the finest community oriented police services to the people of Danbury. In partnership with the community, we will prevent and deter crime, enforce laws, maintain order and safety, and be visible and accessible to all we serve. Police Officers are responsible for the preservation of public peace, the protection of life and property, the prevention of crime, and the proper enforcement of all laws and ordinances.
Applicants must pass a battery of tests including but not limited to written, oral, and physical fitness. The City of Danbury encourages qualified women and minorities to apply.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the Written Exam will be held on September 16, 2017
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid CHIP card with an expiration date later than the application closing date of July 31, 2017
- Valid driver’s license
- At least 21 years of age by the application closing date
- U.S. Citizen
- 20/50 vision in each eye, correctable to 20/20 in each eye
- Normal hearing without use of any hearing aid or other device
- No Felony, Class A or Class B misdemeanor convictions
If you do not meet the above minimum requirements, your application will not be accepted by the Civil Service Commission nor will you receive a refund of your application fees.
A $35 application fee is required and payable online. Applications must be completed by 11:59 pm on July 31, 2017. Applications will not be accepted after this close date.
