POSITION TITLE:                          Vocational Instructor (Agriculture)

PAY RANGE:                                 $35,797 to $51,172 annually (based on experience)

 

      

The Jail Support Bureau is advertising for the position of Vocational Work Crew Instructor to oversee the Jail Agriculture Program.  This is a NON-SWORN position. The Jail Agriculture Program instructs inmates in the planting, growing, and harvesting of fresh vegetables and the preparation, preservation, and distribution of those and other vegetables and items as required. Any interested person is required to submit a memorandum of interest and a resume detailing their experience, training, and any other qualifications to the Human Resource Office via email (hr@waltonso.org).

 

Minimum Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in agriculture or a related vocational area.
  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma.
  • Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to deal with difficult individuals in a correctional setting.

 

Preference will be given to applicants with previous corrections experience.

 

As part of the selection process, applicants for consideration will be required to participate in an oral interview process.
