The Peterborough Police Department strives to serve its community by instituting the core values of Professionalism, Expertise and Dedication. PPD is comprised a Patrol Division, Detective Division and includes both a K9 Officer and School Recourse Officer. PPD is also an integral part of the Monadnock Regional Special Response Team.

The annual salary range for this position is $51,000 to $72,000. Starting pay is negotiable based on Law Enforcement experience, prior experience or relevant training and certifications.

The Peterborough Police Department proudly serves the town and people of Peterborough and Sharon NH. The population of Peterborough is 6,418 (according to the 2020 census. It is located along the Contoocook River at the junction of NH Rt 101 and 202. Peterborough is home to the first tax-supported free public Library. Peterborough is also home to NH’s first state park, Miller State Park and the Moses Cheney house in town served as a stop on the Underground Railroad in the mid -19th century. Peterborough is home to SAU1 which includes Contoocook Valley Regional High School serving approximately 700 students from Peterborough and surrounding towns.
