Certified Police Officer 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be either active Connecticut P.O.S.T.C. certified officers in good standing with their current department, or have retired in good standing, still having Connecticut P.O.S.T.C. police officer status or Connecticut State Troopers who have retired in good standing and who are eligible for lateral or comparative POSTC certification for the position of Police Officer. Starting pay will be based on previous law enforcement experience. 

HIRING PROCESS

The selection process will include, at minimum, a detailed review of your application packet, and the successful completion of the Department’s selection process which includes but may not be limited to the following:

  •  
  • Oral Board Examination
  • Police Commission Oral Board Examination
  • Polygraph Examination
  • Psychological Examination
  • Detailed Background Investigation
  • Medical Exam  
  • Other special requirements may apply.
