Course Overview
This comprehensive one-day training program prepares law enforcement professionals to recognize, understand, and counteract implicit bias within their professional roles. The course addresses how unconscious prejudices naturally embedded in human thinking can affect police interactions, case investigations, and enforcement decisions in ways that compromise equity, undermine public confidence, and reduce officer effectiveness. Additionally, within law enforcement organizations, implicit bias may result in unequal treatment of staff, such as subjecting average or struggling employees to heightened scrutiny while disregarding performance issues among star performers.
Through emphasis on personal reflection and professional responsibility, this training works to advance equitable policing practices, improve the quality of officer judgment, and build stronger relationships with both the communities served and fellow agency members.
