Course Overview
This intensive three-day hands-on training program equips law enforcement officers with essential skills in analyzing mobile phone data, cellular records, and geolocation information using industry-standard forensic mapping applications.
Course Content
Participants will begin by mastering the fundamental procedures for properly seizing, preserving, and examining mobile phones in criminal investigations. The curriculum covers leading mobile forensic software platforms including Graykey, Cellebrite, and Axiom, with practical exercises utilizing Cellebrite readers and Magnet Axiom technology.
The program introduces students to cellular network infrastructure and demonstrates how Cell Site Location Information (CSLI) obtained from wireless carriers can support criminal investigations. Trainees learn to leverage this data for both historical device location analysis and real-time tracking capabilities.
Hands-on laboratory sessions allow students to work directly with forensic mapping tools to examine location data from Apple devices, Google services, and cellular site location records.
Requirements
Students must bring a laptop with internet access and have Google Earth Pro for Desktop pre-installed. A mouse should be brought for use with the laptop during practical exercises.
