Course Overview
This intensive three-day hands-on training program equips law enforcement officers with the skills needed to extract, preserve, and interpret mobile device data, cellular records, and geolocation information utilizing advanced forensic mapping tools and technologies.
Course Content
Participants will gain foundational knowledge on proper mobile phone seizure and preservation protocols. The course covers industry-standard forensic platforms including Graykey, Cellebrite, and Axiom, with practical exercises using Cellebrite readers and Magnet Axiom software.
The training introduces cellular network technology fundamentals and demonstrates how Cell Site Location Information from cellular carriers can be leveraged in criminal investigations to establish historical device locations and monitor live tracking activities.
Through hands-on mapping exercises, students will work directly with forensic tools to analyze data from Apple devices, Google services, and Cell Site Location Information sources.
Requirements
Participants must bring a laptop with internet connectivity and Google Earth Pro for Desktop pre-installed. A computer mouse is also required.
