Course Overview
This comprehensive training program provides an introduction to the Dark Web, often referred to as the internet's frontier. Participants will explore the three primary divisions of internet infrastructure: the Clearnet, Deep Web, and Dark Web, gaining understanding of their distinctions and operational characteristics.
The course covers practical techniques for accessing the Dark Web through multiple tools and platforms, including both smartphone and computer-based utilities. Once learners navigate to Dark Web environments, the instruction expands to encompass critical topics including cryptocurrency fundamentals, cryptocurrency mixers, escrow services, and blockchain mining operations.
A significant focus of the training addresses evidence collection and examination methodologies specific to Dark Web investigations. Attendees will learn proper RAM acquisition techniques from Dark Web sites and develop skills in analyzing collected RAM data to identify and track Onion site browsing history and digital artifacts.
About the Instructor
Glenn Bard brings extensive expertise as a retired Pennsylvania State Trooper First Class and U.S. Veteran of Operation Desert Storm. With computer crime investigation experience dating back to 1999, he has conducted digital forensics work across the nation in cases ranging from child exploitation to criminal homicide. His investigative work has supported city, state, and federal law enforcement agencies including the FBI, U.S. Postal Inspectors, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as well as international government entities.
Glenn holds expert certifications in Digital Forensics, Cellular Technology, and Computer Technology across multiple states, U.S. territories, and the federal court system. He has presented to diverse organizations including the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the World Security Congress, and numerous law enforcement agencies, law firms, and educational institutions. His investigative work has garnered national media attention through outlets such as Fox News, Dateline, the Associated Press, and the New York Times. Currently serving as Chief Technical Officer for PATCtech, Glenn oversees digital forensic and data services operations and has previously served as faculty instructor at Westmoreland County Community College.
