Examining fire scenes where fatalities have occurred ranks among the most demanding and intricate investigations law enforcement professionals will face. The complexity of fire fatality cases stems from their relative rarity, the intense public and media attention they attract, and the demanding conditions present at such scenes. This intensive two-day training program prepares fire investigators to systematically address, coordinate, and conclude investigations of fire scenes resulting in loss of life.

Throughout the course, participants will develop competency in cross-agency collaboration, partnering with coroners and medical examiners, police investigators, and other relevant organizations to establish a unified, comprehensive, and effective investigative approach. The curriculum incorporates documented cases and real-world scenarios to offer practical understanding of how to effectively organize and manage fire fatality scenes and implement sound investigative techniques.
