Cartel Traps
Cartel Traps: Hidden Compartment Training
Course Overview
This intensive one-day classroom program equips law enforcement officers with advanced skills and knowledge for conducting thorough vehicle inspections. Participants will move beyond basic search procedures to master techniques for identifying and clearing natural voids throughout vehicles, recognizing aftermarket alterations, and discovering sophisticated concealment systems designed to hide drugs, money, weapons, and other contraband.
Course Content
Officers will gain expertise in identifying tooling marks, evidence of tampering, dimensional irregularities, non-factory construction methods, and both electronic and manual access mechanisms that indicate hidden compartments. The training systematically covers compartment locations throughout the entire vehicle structure, including floorboards, firewalls, rocker panels, dash areas, center consoles, roof sections, trunk spaces, cargo compartments, engine bays, and other frequently exploited hiding spots.
The course utilizes real-world photographs, video demonstrations, actual case studies, and comprehensive vehicle breakdowns to provide visual learning of what these compartments look like and, critically, what warning signs lead to their identification.
Training Approach
From overlooked factory voids to state-of-the-art electronically controlled compartments, this program teaches officers a methodical vehicle search strategy with immediate practical applications for field deployment.
Eligibility
This training is restricted to sworn law enforcement personnel only.
