Cartel Traps
Cartel Traps: Hidden Compartment Training
This comprehensive one-day classroom course is tailored for law enforcement officers who want to develop advanced skills in vehicle inspection and search procedures. Instructed by Jeremy Bedingfield, the training equips officers with practical knowledge and methods to conduct more thorough and effective vehicle searches that go well beyond standard techniques.
Participants will gain expertise in systematically identifying and clearing natural voids throughout vehicles, recognizing signs of aftermarket modifications, and uncovering sophisticated hidden compartments commonly used to conceal narcotics, currency, weapons, and other contraband. The curriculum covers recognition of tooling marks, tampering evidence, dimensional inconsistencies, non-factory construction, electronic and manual access mechanisms, and other telltale signs of concealment.
The course provides in-depth coverage of hidden compartments across all vehicle areas, including floors, firewalls, rocker panels, dashboards, center consoles, roofs, trunks, cargo areas, engine compartments, and other frequently exploited locations. Throughout the training, real-world photographs, video demonstrations, case studies, and detailed examinations of trap vehicles illustrate exactly what these compartments look like and, most importantly, what indicators reveal their presence.
From easily missed natural voids to highly advanced electronically controlled compartments, this course provides officers with a methodical vehicle search strategy applicable immediately in field operations. The training motto emphasizes: Clear the Voids. Know what factory looks like. Stop missing traps.
This training is restricted to sworn law enforcement personnel only.
