Course Overview:

This intensive 2½-day program equips fire and arson investigators with the competencies needed to systematically investigate vehicle fires and identify their points of origin. Participants will engage in both classroom instruction and hands-on practical exercises designed to develop proficiency in conducting methodical, thorough, and evidence-based vehicle examinations.

Course Content:

The training covers essential knowledge regarding vehicle design, electrical systems, fuel systems, and their individual components that professionals may encounter during investigations of motor vehicles. Instruction includes examination of how these systems and components can malfunction or ignite fires, as well as coverage of alternative fuel vehicles and their specific fire hazards.

Training Format:

Through a combination of classroom learning and practical field exercises, attendees will develop the technical understanding and investigative techniques necessary to conduct professional vehicle fire investigations.
