Undercover Drug Enforcement Techniques

This comprehensive training program is designed for undercover officers and members of cover teams operating in the challenging and unpredictable realm of undercover drug enforcement. Participants will gain essential knowledge spanning the entire undercover operation—from establishing a credible cover identity through executing drug purchases to properly documenting activities via affidavits and supporting search warrant applications. The course addresses the intricate legal, operational, and officer safety considerations inherent in this specialized investigative work.

The program thoroughly examines the unique requirements and qualifications necessary for undercover investigators. Students will master developing believable cover stories and appearances, techniques for simulating drug use, effective use of street terminology and jargon, and strategies for deflecting and managing suspicion. Additionally, the course covers the critical aspects of working with confidential informants and clearly defines the duties and responsibilities of cover team personnel.

Practical experience forms a cornerstone of this training, featuring role-playing scenarios and hands-on field exercises that enable participants to refine their operational approach when dealing with various levels of drug trafficking organizations. Evening exercises are incorporated into the program, and students should be aware that total training hours may exceed the standard 40-hour course length.
