ACTAR Test Preparation Course

Course Overview

Participants in this program will gain comprehensive preparation for the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) examination, recognized as the industry standard credential for professional crash reconstruction specialists. The course equips attendees with the knowledge, problem-solving strategies, and practical skills necessary to perform confidently on exam day.

Course Content

The curriculum covers essential topics including exam format and requirements, foundational mathematics and physics principles, and specialized areas such as Event Data Recorder (EDR) analysis and tire-related examination questions. Participants will develop competency in both theoretical and scenario-based problem solving, master calculations for approach and departure angles and distances, and engage in hands-on practical test simulations to reinforce learning.

Prerequisites

Law enforcement participants must have successfully completed IPTM's two-week Traffic Crash Reconstruction course or an equivalent program. Engineering professionals must have completed either IPTM's two-week Traffic Crash Reconstruction course, SAE's reconstruction training, or equivalent on-the-job crash reconstruction experience.
