Course Overview:
This comprehensive two-day program addresses the growing threat of online child exploitation by equipping law enforcement with practical skills in undercover operations. As social media usage among youth continues to rise, so has predatory activity targeting minors. This course prepares officers to take proactive measures through undercover chatting and sting operations, providing the knowledge and tools necessary to conduct effective investigations in this critical area.
Course Content:
Throughout the two-day intensive, participants will develop expertise in multiple aspects of undercover operations, including the creation and management of convincing undercover chat personas, familiarity with contemporary messaging applications used in sting operations, and understanding current and emerging online communication terminology. Students will engage in practical exercises to establish undercover sting operations, learn proven methodologies such as house versus vehicle encounter operations, and explore emerging tactical approaches.
Instruction combines slide presentations, lectures, group discussions, and hands-on practical application to ensure comprehensive learning. The curriculum specifically covers:
