Child Abuse Investigations for Patrol

The purpose of this training is to provide law enforcement personnel at the patrol level with knowledge of how to recognize various types of suspected child abuse and to enhance the primary response to child abuse investigations. After taking this course peace officers will have the skills and knowledge to properly investigate and document a child abuse incident. Peace officers will understand the mandatory reporting requirements, resources available to support victims of crime, and how to support a prosecutable case from the initial patrol response.
