Overview: This comprehensive three-day course provides intensive hands-on instruction in the identification, documentation, and recovery of human skeletal remains in various contexts. Whether remains are buried or scattered on the surface, participants will gain practical expertise in professional recovery techniques and forensic analysis methods.

Instructor Information: This course is led by Dr. Meredith Tise, an experienced forensic anthropologist, and is co-hosted by the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office and Keiser University Sarasota.
What to Bring: Participants should wear weather-appropriate outdoor fieldwork clothing, including sturdy closed-toed boots and long pants. Essential items include sunscreen, a hat, a jacket, and insect repellent. Bring your own water and snacks; lunch will be provided daily. All necessary equipment for the training will be supplied by Suncoast Forensics, though participants may bring additional screens, shovels, or buckets if desired (labeled with personal or agency identification).
Professional Credentials: This course is approved for IAI Crime Scene Certification and Recertification as well as ABMDI Continuing Education credit (24 hours).
Attendance Requirements: Full attendance is mandatory to receive a certificate. Cancellations must be submitted to meredith@suncoastforensics.com at least 15 calendar days prior to the start date. Cancellations made within 15 days of the course start will incur a $200 fee. No-shows will forfeit the full class fee unless a documented emergency applies. Agencies may send substitute participants with prior notification to Suncoast Forensics.
