2 Day Law Enforcement Shotgun Armorer Course

Course Overview:

This intensive two-day program is designed to provide law enforcement personnel with comprehensive training in the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of duty and defensive shotguns. Participants will develop hands-on expertise in field stripping, disassembly, reassembly, and component-level repair of industry-standard shotgun platforms.

Shotgun Models Covered:

  • Remington 870, 1100, and 1187
  • Mossberg 500 and 590
  • Benelli M1-90, M2, M3, M4, and 1014

Training Topics Include:

  • Field stripping, disassembly, and reassembly procedures
  • Headspace and wear inspections
  • Action function and cycles of operation
  • Trigger group assembly and adjustment
  • Barrel maintenance, inspection, and repair
  • Forend assemblies and action bars
  • Bolt assembly components including extractors, firing pins, and retractor springs
  • Flex tab trio assemblies
  • Ejector inspection, repair, and replacement
  • Magazine tube repair and replacement, including springs, followers, and retainers
  • Shell latch inspection, repair, and replacement
  • Hookspace and stem adjustments

Course Details:

All necessary tools, manuals, and instructional materials are provided by Defensive Edge Training. Students are required to bring their own shotgun systems to familiarize themselves with their department's specific configurations and modifications. This approach enables thorough cleaning and inspection of personally-owned weapons while allowing for on-site parts replacement and repair as needed. The course is highly intensive and hands-on in nature, emphasizing practical application and detailed technical knowledge.
