Course Overview

This intensive two-day program is designed to provide law enforcement personnel with comprehensive armoring knowledge for duty and defensive pump-action and semi-automatic shotguns. Participants will develop hands-on expertise in maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and modifying shotgun systems from major manufacturers including Remington, Mossberg, and Benelli.

  • Remington 870, 1100, and 1187
  • Mossberg 500 and 590
  • Benelli M1-90, M2, M3, M4, and 1014

Training Topics

The curriculum encompasses a wide range of essential armoring skills, including field stripping and basic maintenance procedures, complete disassembly and reassembly techniques, and thorough headspace and wear inspections. Students will gain proficiency with action and firing cycles, trigger group assembly, barrel maintenance and repair, forend assemblies and action bars, bolt assemblies including extractors and firing pins, flex tab trio assemblies, ejector inspection and replacement, magazine tube repair and replacement, shell latches, and hookspace and stem adjustments.

Course Details

All necessary tools, manuals, and instructional materials are provided throughout the training. Students are required to bring their own shotgun systems to become familiar with their specific configurations and any modifications. This approach allows adequate time for thorough cleaning and inspection while enabling instructors to perform necessary repairs and parts replacement. The course is highly intensive and hands-on, providing substantial practical knowledge and direct experience.
