This course represents the second offering in a three-part sequence designed to advance your expertise in traffic crash investigation. Building on the foundational knowledge from IPTM's At-Scene Traffic Crash/Traffic Homicide Investigation course, participants will explore sophisticated investigation methodologies and complex analytical concepts.
Throughout this intensive program, you will master advanced vehicle dynamics principles, including acceleration and deceleration analysis, as well as scenarios involving airborne situations. The curriculum covers speed estimation techniques derived from various collision scenarios such as falls, vaults, and vehicle rollovers, along with calculations involving kinetic energy and linear momentum. Participants will also develop skills in evaluating vehicle lighting systems, tire conditions, and damage patterns to reconstruct vehicle behavior during collisions.
A significant portion of the coursework focuses on applying acceleration/deceleration factors and perception/reaction time principles to determine the temporal and spatial relationships between colliding vehicles. Upon completion, graduates will be well-prepared to pursue advanced and specialized training opportunities in traffic crash reconstruction.

Prerequisites
Completion of IPTM's At-Scene Traffic Crash/Traffic Homicide Investigation course or equivalent training is required. Participants without a robust background in mathematics and physics are strongly encouraged to complete IPTM's 16-hour Re-Introduction to Math and Physics (Online) course prior to enrollment.
