This comprehensive four-day program is designed to give students an in-depth understanding of cellular data and records commonly obtained during criminal investigations. The curriculum incorporates more than twenty-five hands-on practical exercises distributed across all four days, ensuring participants develop solid competency in working with cellular records and related investigative data.
Course Content:
Day 1: Participants will gain exposure to a wide range of law enforcement resources applicable to investigative work. The course covers cellular technology fundamentals, industry terminology, and the historical development of cellular systems. Students will be introduced to CellHawk software and trained in its application for analyzing call detail records and other data sources collected during law enforcement investigations.
Day 2: Students will work with authentic call detail records (CDRs) sourced from major cellular carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and US Cellular. Training focuses on proper interpretation of these records and extraction of critical investigative information contained within them.
This course provides law enforcement professionals with essential skills for effectively utilizing cellular phone data and mapping analysis in their investigative processes.
