As an exercise of sovereign jurisdiction, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe enforces public safety and security to ensure the wellbeing of tribal members, employees and guests. The Tribe’s Police and Fire Departments operate under tribal, state and federal laws and mutual aide agreements with local communities.
Mission Statement:
The Mission of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Federal Police Department is to maintain peace, preserve life and provide law enforcement services to the Tribal Nation and its enterprises with Honor, Pride, and Humility. We strive diligently to accomplish our mission through the preservation of Tribal lands, Justice and Peace, while enforcing all applicable Federal, Tribal, State Laws and ordinances, and adhering to all government-to-government agreements, Memorandums of understanding and Gaming Compacts. The men and women of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Federal Police Department bear true faith allegiance to the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the trust and confidence given them. Carrying out duties with the utmost respect for culture, tradition and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe’s Historical values.
