PT TEST: You must have a current Fit 2 Serve Physical Fitness within 6 months to apply.
WRITTEN TEST: You must have a current Fit 2 Serve Written test to apply.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
West Warwick Police Officers provide continuous patrols, perform a variety of community services, and acts as a first response to all incidents and emergencies. Officers conduct preliminary criminal investigations, investigate traffic collisions, and enforce federal laws, state laws, and local ordinances. In 2023 our 51 sworn police officers responded to over 35,500 calls for service within the town’s 8 square miles, serving approximately 30,000 residents. The department has a variety of divisions including the Patrol Division, Detective Division, Special Investigations Unit, Community Policing, School Resource Officers, and an Honor Guard. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
In order to be eligible for the testing process, applicants must:
- Be a United States Citizen
- Be at least 21 years of age by January 5, 2025
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Possess a high school diploma or have obtained a General Equivalency Diploma
- Be of good moral character
SALARY & BENEFITS
- Patrol Officer Salary after 1 year of probation: $1,401.81/week
