WATERTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR
ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICERS

The Town of Watertown is seeking qualified applicants for the position of police officer.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age on the date of appointment
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalency
  • Hold a valid Connecticut driver’s license
  • Must be a non-smoker

Additional Requirements:

  • All candidates will be required to pass a written test administered by the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association (CPCA)
  • All candidates must have a valid CHIP card in order to submit application

Testing Includes:

  • Written Test
  • Oral interview(s)
  • Polygraph examination
  • Psychological examination
  • Physical examination
  • Thorough background investigation

Upon completion of P.O.S.T. training and assignment to a patrol shift, candidates will work a 5-on-3-off, 5-on-2-off work schedule. 

The salary range is $60,199.02 - $96,537.71

Upon graduation of the police academy and completion of the field training program, salary increases to $78,166.76.
