Patrol Deputy

The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office is actively recruiting for the position of Patrol Deputy.   • Schedule
    • The Sheriff’s Office currently works a 2 on, 2 off, 3 on schedule with 12 hour shifts.
    • Every other weekend off
  • Pay
    • $34.85 to $42.06 (as of July 1, 2026)
    • Additional pay incentives include shift differential, specialty pay, and education/military. 
    • Lateral transfers eligible for full transfer - pay and leave 
  • Specific benefits include:   
    • 3 to 6 weeks of vacation time 
    •  An additional 40 hours of personal time
    • 100% Employee Healthcare
    • 25 Year, no age, 2/3 pay retirement. (MEPERS 3-C)
      • VOYA and MaineStart 457b plans also available

 In addition to the listed specialties, we train officers to be skilled instructors in various fields including EVOC, MARC, Firearms, SFST, Intoxilyzer Instructor, Crash Investigations, Forensic Mapping, Crisis Intervention Team, ALICE Instructor, CPR Instructor, Taser, Less Lethal Munitions, Physical Fitness Instructor, and Handgun/Shotgun/Rifle armorers.   

Sagadahoc County is a healthy place to live and work. Applicants are not required to have a degree but must be 21 years old to apply. If you are 20 years of age, you must have a minimum of 60 credit hours or be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary education program.

Applicants are also required to have taken and passed the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Physical Fitness Test. You must submit the results with your application.
