Hiring Announcement – Borough of Rumson
POLICE OFFICERS
The Rumson Police Department is accepting applications and resumes for multiple positions for Certified Police Officer. Applicants must possess a current Police Training Commission (PTC) certificate, a SLEO II certificate and waiver eligible, or be currently enrolled in a New Jersey Police Academy Alternate Route Program, or a SLEO II Academy pending graduation.
Applicants must also possess the below qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Police training certification or other listed above
- Be a citizen of the United States and a resident of New Jersey prior to appointment
- Possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and no more than 35 years of age prior to appointment.
- Applicants must successfully pass a medical and physical examination, a psychological examination, a complete drug and alcohol screening, a thorough personal background check, and an oral interview.
Benefits:
- Starting salary $57,421

- $100 per hour extra duty rate with 4 hour minimum
- 12- hour pitman schedule
- Outer carriers, Class A and B uniforms
- Initial uniforms and equipment provided to new officers
