Now Hiring for the Position of Academy Recruit & Class II Special Officer

The Franklin Township Police Department is now accepting applications for non-certified candidates who are interested in a career in law enforcement and certified Class II Special Officers.  The hiring process will consist of the successful passing of a physical fitness test, oral interview, drug screening, and background investigation.  The minimum qualifications at the time of appointment are as follows:

  • 18-35 years old and US Citizen
  • Must possess valid NJ Driver’s License
  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Must be a resident of New Jersey
  • Must be able to successfully pass a physical fitness test, drug screening, background investigation, medical examination, and psychological examination

Starting Salary:

  • Class II Special Officer: $19 per hour
  • Academy recruit: $51,289.00

The Franklin Township Police Department offers a competitive salary and officers currently pay 15% towards healthcare benefits.  The Franklin Township Police Department has a wide variety of assignments available to include Patrol, Detective, K9, Swat, Traffic Safety Unit, & Training Unit.
