Public Safety Dispatcher (Telecommunicator): Collective Bargaining Position:

The Southington Police Department is seeking a Fill time and Per Diem Public Safety Dispatcher to work within the Southington Police Department Communications Division.  Dispatchers are required to dispatch Police, Fire, and provide EMD Services.

Minimum Application Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a G.E.D.
  • Be a citizen of the United States of America.
  • Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.


Application Process:

  • Candidates must take or have current CPCA written test score within six months of their application date for the dispatching position. The passing score is 70% or higher.  For upcoming test dates got to or CPCAnet. org.

  • Once you have a valid/current test score applicants must go to and fill out the online application.
  • Application Deadline: Friday, August 5, 2022.

  • State of Connecticut Collect System Certification
  • Power Phone Emergency Medical Dispatching Certification
