Certified Public Safety Dispatcher

The City of Meriden is accepting applications for the position of Certified Public Safety Dispatcher. All interested candidates must be certified as a Connecticut Public Safety Dispatcher or Certified with COLLECT. A strong working knowledge of CAD/RMS systems is desirable and the ability to multi-task between phone, radio and computer systems is essential.
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, have a strong interest in serving the public, and willing to work a variety of shifts including weekends, midnights and holidays. Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Priority Dispatch/International Academy EMD, EPD, and EFD.
Experience using ProQA Software
Experience using Nexgen CAD
COLLECT/NCIC Certification
Additional Information
Base Hourly Rate: Range $27.80 - $31.64 per hour (This will increase based on current Union Negotiations)
Shift differential 7.5% for evening shift
Shift differential 8.5% for midnight shift
$400 annual certification Bonus for triple certifications in EFD, EPD, and EMD
Uniform allowance

Paid Vacation and Holidays

401a retirement plan
OT paid at double time after 12 hours
All Mandates are double time (or triple time in some cases)
