POLICE OFFICER
The West Lampeter Township Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of police officer. We are seeking those individuals who possess a strong work ethic and who share in our agency values, to include; integrity, respect, honor, courage, leadership and accountability. Through the services we provide, and a team-oriented approach, we seek to promote and ensure a safe environment for the residents, businesses, schools and visitors of West Lampeter Township.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
The West Lampeter Township Police Department was formed in March 2, 1950 and has grown to its current staff of 17 sworn police officers and 4 civilian support employees. The agency provides 24/7 service to the residents, businesses, and visitors of West Lampeter Township. Our officers enjoy state of the art equipment, as well as a modern police facility and vehicles. Opportunities abound for advancement, and we participate frequently in specialized units and training. Officers are regularly assigned to County task force positions, to include: the Lancaster County Drug Enforcement Task Force, Computer Crimes Task Force, Human Trafficking Task Force, Major Crimes Task Force and Auto Theft Task Force.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
- Must be able to perform essential job functions and complete a competitive process including, but not limited to; oral interview(s), physical and psychological examination, polygraph examination and a comprehensive background investigation.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED Equivalency
- Must have a valid PA operator’s license at the time of application deadline
- Must possess MPOETC Act 120 police officer certification by the time of appointment
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and provide proof of citizenship.
- Must meet or exceed all requirements and conditions for certification under MPOETC Act 120, the West Lampeter Township Police Department Police Officer Job Description, and the West Lampeter Township Police Officer Selection policy.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
