The Tewksbury Police Department is comprised of 67 sworn officers and 8 full time employees. We are a pro-active police department and have a strong community policing philosophy.

The Department has many specialty units and positions consisting of the Criminal Investigations Division, ATV Unit, Drone Unit, K-9 Unit, School Resource Officers, Community Engagement Unit, Drug Unit, and Motorcycle Unit, to name a few.

 

Salary and Benefits

Salary and Vacation: Determined based on experience. (4.5% increase July 1,2026)

Starting Salary (Effective July 1, 2025) : Ranges from $70,000 to $101,000, based on:

  • Years of experience
  • Education level
  • Night shift differential

 

In addition to the salary Longevity Pay Increases:

  • +3% after 5 years of service
  • Up to 12.75% after 25 years of service
