JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER
The Simsbury Police Department is a CALEA and State of Connecticut accredited organization that strives to provide the highest quality service to our community. We seek highly motivated, enthusiastic, dedicated people who are interested in a rewarding career as a law enforcement professional.
The Simsbury Police Department is accepting on line applications for the position of Certified Police Officer. The salary range is $77,568.28 - $108,739.58 with a generous benefit plan, to include:
- Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
- Life Insurance (up to 2x salary) and Long-Term Disability Insurance
- Retirement Pension Plan (Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution Optional)
- 457 Retirement Savings Plan
- 2 Weeks of Vacation per Year and 12 Paid Holidays
Minimum eligibility requirements at time of hire are:
- U.S. Citizen and 21 years of age or older
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license
- No criminal convictions for any felony or class A or B misdemeanors or domestic violence
- High school graduate or GED
- Current Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council certification. At the time of application, you must possess a Connecticut POSTC police certification in good standing or be eligible for recertification upon employment with a police department.
- Testing will include a written exam, oral exam, extensive background investigation, psychological exam, polygraph exam, a medical exam and a controlled substance screen. - To be considered for this position, applicants need to be at least 21 years of age by the time of appointment/time of hire
