Certified Part-Time Emergency Services Dispatcher
The Putnam Special Service District is seeking a part time certified Emergency Services Dispatcher for the the Putnam Police Department’s Communications Center. Hours will primarily be weekends and holidays with opportunities for additional shifts.
Duties include but are not limited to receiving 911 calls, dispatching police, fire and EMS, use of various information databases including COLLECT/NCIC, use of Dispatch CAD software and answering general inquiry phone calls.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and must pass a thorough background investigation and physical exam, including drug screening. Applicants must demonstrate effective oral and written interpersonal skills, along with the ability to multi-task, maintain composure, communicate and elicit information quickly and accurately under stressful situations.
Preferred applicants will have State of Connecticut Telecommunicator Certification and PowerPhone EMD certification.
