About our department
The Natick Police Department serves a community of 37,006 residents and many more visitors due to its economic draw from the Natick Mall and the Golden Triangle. In calendar year 2024 the Natick Police Department handled 22,307 Calls for Service, 1,013 Criminal Complaints, 1,957 Offense Reports, and 2,460 Traffic Citations. Through these many encounters officers of the Natick Police Department received two citizen's complaints. This is a testament to the professionalism and commitment the officers have to their community and to the profession.

Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria at the time of appointment:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license
- Have no felony convictions
- Be able to obtain a License to Carry a Firearm
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must reside in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts within 20 miles of the Town of Natick perimeter within 9 months of employment
-Able to be certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission
Job Description/General Duties:
- Be responsible for the efficient performance of duties in conformance with the rules, regulations and policies of the department.
- Identify criminal offenders and criminal activity and, where appropriate, apprehend offenders and participate in subsequent court proceedings
- Reduce the opportunities for the commission of crimes through preventive patrol and other measures
- Aid individuals who are in danger of physical harm
- Facilitate the movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic
- Identify problems that are potentially serious law enforcement concerns
- Create and maintain a feeling of security in the community
- Be civil and courteous at all times, realizing that they are representing the Department and all police in general
