The Town of Hampstead Maryland is currently seeking applications for lateral police officer.

Hampstead is located in Carroll County Maryland and serves the incorporated Town as well as the surrounding communities. The Hampstead Police Department is focused on providing quality police service based on a community policing model. Officers build strong ties with the various members and businesses of the community while providing professional police services. Typical duties include: enforcing criminal and traffic laws of the State of Maryland, Carroll County, and the Code of the Town of Hampstead, report writing, problem solving, investigating crime, conducting patrol, and participation in special events around Town. Each year, the Hampstead Police Department hosts many special events as part of our community policing initiative. This includes events such as: Shop With A Cop, National Night Out, Coffee with a Cop, and many others.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with level of experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a Maryland Police Training Commission Certified Law Enforcement Officer or eligible for Maryland Certification. Applicants must also meet the following conditions: pass an oral interview, physical agility test, polygraph, psychology test, comprehensive background investigation, and submit to a drug screen. Applicants must be a United States Citizen possess a valid driver's license as well as provide proof of graduation from an accredited high school or G.E.D.
