The Groton Long Point Police Department is seeking interest from Connecticut POSTC Certified police officers to fill a Full-Time position.  Active Connecticut POSTC certified officers who are in good standing with their current department and/or Officers who have retired in good standing and are still POSTC certified are encouraged to apply.

Selected candidates are required to successfully complete a written exam, Chief’s interview, background investigation, polygraph examination, psychological examination and a physical examination to include a drug screening. EMR Certification preferred.

Hired candidates shall refrain from smoking at any time as a condition of employment.

Starting salary is $69,831 with an attractive benefit package including a defined benefit plan, health, dental and visual insurance. Overtime is available.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, a high school graduate or G.E.D., be a United States Citizen, hold a valid driver’s license, and never have been convicted of a felony, class A or B misdemeanor, domestic violence crimes, or any act that would constitute perjury or false statement.

Groton Long Point is a residential sea side beach community abutting Fisher’s Island Sound.
