Course Overview

This training program is tailored for newly assigned investigators and patrol officers seeking to build investigative competencies and establish a foundation for careers in criminal investigations. Participants will acquire the essential skills required to manage a criminal investigation from the initial report stage through final case preparation for prosecution. The course emphasizes practical techniques in crime scene evaluation, evidence handling and documentation, victim and witness interviews, and the legal framework governing search and arrest warrant applications. Attendees will receive sample warrant affidavits and case preparation tools to support effective prosecution submissions.

The program also addresses custodial questioning procedures, identification of investigative support resources, and development of thorough, precise investigative reports that strengthen prosecution outcomes.
