Course Overview
This comprehensive certification program equips participants with the essential knowledge and skills needed to understand, instruct, oversee, and analyze law enforcement use of force decisions and incidents. The training is tailored to meet the specific needs of three professional groups within law enforcement.

- Policy Makers: Ensure organizational use-of-force and response-to-resistance procedures align with constitutional requirements, established case law, and industry best practices
Program Content
The curriculum synthesizes legal principles, liability considerations, instructional methodology, tactical decision-making, officer psychological readiness, and leadership development into an integrated learning experience. Special attention is given to contemporary challenges in law enforcement, such as de-escalation strategies, investigation of in-custody deaths, neck restraint applications, and prevention of weapon confusion incidents.
Optional Certification
Participants may pursue an optional LLRMI Use of Force Instructor/Analyst Certification by completing a written project that is evaluated by the course instructor team. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own agency's use-of-force policies and instructional materials to facilitate peer discussion and expert feedback.
