2 Day Law Enforcement Shotgun Armorer Course

This intensive two-day armoring program provides comprehensive instruction on the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of duty and defensive pump-action and semi-automatic shotguns. Participants will gain hands-on expertise with three major manufacturers' platforms: Remington, Mossberg, and Benelli models.

Shotgun Models Covered:

  • Remington 870, 1100, and 1187
  • Mossberg 500 and 590
  • Benelli M1-90, M2, M3, M4, and 1014

Course Content Includes:

  • Field stripping, disassembly, and reassembly procedures
  • Headspace verification and wear inspections
  • Action and cycles of function
  • Trigger group assembly and adjustment
  • Barrel maintenance, inspection, and repair
  • Forend assemblies and action bars
  • Bolt assemblies including extractors, firing pins, and retractor springs
  • Flex tab trio assemblies
  • Ejector inspection, repair, and replacement
  • Magazine tube repair and replacement, including retainers, springs, and followers
  • Shell latch inspection, repair, and replacement
  • Hookspace and stem adjustments

All necessary tools, manuals, and materials are provided by the course. Students must bring their own shotgun systems to familiarize themselves with their department's specific configurations and any modifications. This requirement ensures adequate time for thorough cleaning, inspection, and any necessary parts replacement or repair. The course is highly practical and demanding, designed to deliver substantial hands-on knowledge and real-world armoring skills.
