Course Overview

This specialized armoring course is designed for law enforcement snipers and marksmen who need to develop expertise in maintaining, inspecting, and repairing their tactical rifle systems. The training emphasizes practical skills and manufacturer-recommended procedures, ensuring officers can keep their firearms in optimal working condition. Instruction is provided by FBI and NRA Certified Instructors who follow established manufacturer guidelines.

Supported Rifle Systems

The course includes comprehensive coverage of Remington 700, Savage 10/110, Winchester/FN 70 series, Tikka, Sako, and Ruger platforms. Officers are encouraged to bring alternative brands and models such as Steyr, Bergara, Sig Sauer, CZ, and custom builds for instruction and support.

  • Weapon history and operational cycles
  • Complete action disassembly and reassembly procedures
  • Identification of common problems, components, and nomenclature
  • Stock, pillar, and bedding inspections for traditional, synthetic, and SOPMOD configurations
  • Barrel inspection and issue identification
  • Parts interchangeability and brand compatibility
  • Headspace measurement and verification
  • Firing pin protrusion assessment
  • Trigger cleaning and replacement techniques
  • Chamber inspection procedures
  • Scope base mounting and installation
  • Scope ring truing and lapping for optimal performance
  • Comprehensive cleaning and maintenance protocols
  • Action torquing and proper torque specifications

Hands-On Training Experience

This intensive single-day course provides substantial practical experience with participants' own weapons systems. Each student will inspect their rifle and execute any necessary corrections during the training session to ensure their firearm operates at peak performance. All required tools, manuals, and materials are provided by the course. Students must bring their own weapons to facilitate familiarity with their specific configurations and modifications, allow for thorough cleaning and inspection, and enable repair or replacement of parts as needed.
