Crisis Communications for Public Safety Dispatchers: High-Stress Call Handling, Critical Incident Communication, and Dispatcher Resilience

Course Duration: 2.5 Days

Cost: $475.00

Instructor: George Perez

Professional Development Hours: 20 PD hours

Course Overview

Emergency dispatchers frequently serve as the initial point of contact during a crisis situation, arriving before patrol officers, firefighters, paramedics, command staff, or a complete operational picture can be established. Dispatchers are exposed to the panic, violence, fear, silence, and chaos of emergency situations. The actions and decisions made during these critical initial moments have a direct impact on responder safety, caller survival, scene stabilization, public confidence, and legal accountability.

This training program equips dispatchers and communications leadership with evidence-based strategies and practical techniques to manage chaos, extract vital information, assist field responders, maintain thorough incident documentation, and support emotional recovery following traumatic calls.
