BOONE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Our law enforcement office consists of 16 sworn deputy sheriffs and 3 civilian staff members. Our current specialized details include a drug enforcement officer, school resource officer, 2 full time bailiffs and a home confinement supervisor in addition to the other deputies assigned to road patrol who are dedicated to answering 911 calls. Within our ranks we also specialize in crime scene processing, crime scene photography, defensive tactics, firearms and less lethal tactics.

MISSION STATEMENT:

The goals of the Law Enforcement Division of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and each member/employee thereof include: the protection of life, individual liberty and property; the preservation of peace; the prevention or crime and disorder; the detection and arrest of violators of the law; the enforcement of federal, state and county laws and ordinances coming within departmental jurisdiction; and public service to the community.

Boone County is a mostly rural area covering over 500 square miles in Southern West Virginia, with a population in excess of 21,000 people. The county seat is Madison and other towns include Danville, Whitesville and Sylvester.
