Position: Special Law Enforcement Officer II 

Hourly: $28.57 per hour

The Haddon Township Police Department is an accredited, full-service law enforcement agency serving the communities of Haddon Township and Audubon Park in Camden County, New Jersey. The Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II (SLEO II) is a part-time member of the Police Department. The SLEO II Officer may be scheduled to work not more than twenty-nine and a half (29.5) hours per week to provide public safety and law enforcement services to the residents of Haddon Twp. SLEO II Officers have the same authority and arrest powers as full-time police officers while they are employed and on duty. SLEO II Officers can be used for traffic control, spectator control, court security, administrative assignments, patrol functions, and other similar duties.

Salary: $28.57 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

  • Citizen of the United States.
  • Resident of New Jersey with a valid NJ driver’s license.
  • Literate and fluent in English.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma, or a high school equivalency completion certificate.
  • Absent of criminal record.
  • Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II Police academy training completion certificate from the New Jersey Police Training Commission.

 

Applicants must also:

  • Meet the physical & psychological standards as determined by an appointed authority.
  • Pass an extensive background investigation, oral board interview, and drug testing.
