Washington Township Police Department- Morris County, NJ Police JobsWASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (MORRIS COUNTY)

SLEO, CLASS III or Certified Class II for SRO position

The Washington Township Police Department Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Class III Special Police Officer. The applicant must be a retired law enforcement officer less than 65 years of age who previously served as a duly qualified, fully training full time officer in any municipality or county of this state or as a member of the State Police and was separated from prior service in good standing within 3 years of appointment to this position. The Class III legislation also requires the Officer be a resident of the State of New Jersey.  Certified Class II officers are also eligible for this position as an SRO at West Morris Central High School.

Starting Salary shall be $32.00 per hour and he/she shall work a schedule of 30-32 hours weekly. The required hours will be 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Special Police Officer shall only work when school is in session. It is anticipated that hiring will prior to the start of the 2021-2022 school year. The Special Police Officer shall conduct School Safety and Security duties within West Morris Central High School.
