NAMPA POLICE DEPARTMENT

NOW HIRING

Community Service Officer

VACCINE NOT REQUIRED

INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD OCTOBER 26TH FOR THIS POSITION

The position of Community Service Officer supports patrol with calls for service by responding to low level calls and taking police reports.

Nampa Police department adopted the Community Service Officer (CSO) program in 1995, employing two CSOs; now the department employs six full time CSOs. When the program was developed, the primary functions were to assist patrol, however, CSOs began running the evidence facility, taking care of the vehicle fleet, traffic control, procurement and much more.

As time has passed and the program has developed, we now have three CSOs working behind the scenes assisting detectives, assuring training is kept up to date, as well as coordinating and reviewing data for directed patrols. We employee three full time CSOs that work as patrol CSOs; while these three CSOs still work behind the scenes, they also handle a wide variety of calls for service.

These calls for service include:

  • Abandoned vehicles
  • Theft reports
  • Automotive burglaries
  • Fraud
  • Harassment
  • Found property
  • Runaway and missing persons
  • Traffic control
  • Process crime scene

CSOs also coordinate:

  • The Nampa Public Safety Academy
  • Community service with Juveniles
  • Graffiti clean-up
  • Ride-a-longs
  • Bike auctions
  • Volunteers
