The Town of Newington serves a population of 800 residents, along with an Industrial, commercial and military populace. The workforce and customers coming to Newington on a daily basis can exceed 35,000. Newington is located between the City of Portsmouth to our south and the City of Dover to our north. Shore side to Great and Little Bays and the Piscataqua River. The department is comprised of 11 Full-Time Officers, 4 Part-Time Officers with 1 of them being a Prosecutor, an Executive Administrative Assistant, and a Part-Time Administrative/Accreditation Assistant.

A three-member Police Commission oversees the Police Department, created in 1987 by the vote of the Town Meeting. You may rest assured that you are served by a group of well-trained officers and administration.
