The Wakefield Police Department proudly serves the vibrant town of Wakefield, Massachusetts — a close-knit community of 28,000 residents located just 13 miles north of Boston. Spanning 7.9 square miles and easily accessible via Interstate 95/Route 128 or the MBTA commuter rail, Wakefield is a thriving town with a strong sense of community and connection.

With a team of 48 full-time sworn officers, supported by 2 part-time parking enforcement officers and a dedicated mental health clinician, the department delivers comprehensive law enforcement and public safety services around the clock. Wakefield PD is also a proud member of the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC), ensuring access to additional regional resources and expertise when needed.
