The Lakeway Police Department is a forward-thinking, proactive agency committed to providing exceptional, innovative, and professional police service to our community. Though we are a medium sized agency, we strive to be a leader in the profession. We believe in a balanced approach to law enforcement, and have earned the trust and support of the community by enforcing the law in a fair and just manner.

While we put community first, our relationship within our team is as important to us as our relationship with the community. We actively work to foster a positive and healthy culture within the Department through wellness programs, peer support, good leadership and progressive incentives.

As a 4-time accredited agency, we make it a priority to train and equip our team so we are well prepared to perform our duties. We take training seriously and use our own LPD subject matter experts, other agency trainers, and professional organizations like TTPOA, LEMIT, FBI LEEDA, and ALERRT to develop our team members to the fullest capabilities. Our commitment to providing the right equipment, including the latest in body armor, shields, breaching tools, and issued RDS pistols, ensures we are equipped with what we need to serve the community and make it home to our loved ones.

About Us

The City of Lakeway is a law enforcement friendly community located 18 miles west of Austin in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, on the shores of Lake Travis. Lakeway has a growing population of over 19,000. With a number of dining and shopping options, plus a variety of outdoor activities, Lakeway is a great place to spend time with family and friends.
